Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
How To Use: Apply to face, body and hair as needed. Great after the shower and post-sun exposure. Safe for all ages.
For face, rub a small amount together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté. For body, massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering. For hair, rub a small amount between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
When To Use: Day and night, head-to-toe.
Layering Tip: Start with your cleanser, next, apply eye treatment, follow with a serum and finally your moisturizer. Apply 100% Squalane Oil last to lock in hydration.

Not worth it to me
Didn't do much for my skin, it actually made my skin itch.

Love it!
I love the squalene oil, it's lightweight and keeps my skin's moisture retained especially when used with my favorite body lotion. I wish I could just get a gallon.

Smooth
I’ve never had a skin care regimen before, I was always told my skin was young and smooth looking. But going through the stresses of life, lack of sleep and age, my skin started to change. I never know what products to get, there’s just too many out there but I knew I wanted some thing as natural and organic as possible. This popped up on my Instagram feed. I’m embarrassed to say that I looked into these products because Chrustina Rocco advertised it. thought she was pretty honest so I checked out the products lol. I’m trying to be honest in this review.:) Sometimes it helps for someone to just tell you what to do. I fell in love with the way the products are made and why and they are a good price. Much better than a lot of other products that I was looking into. And they offer such great promotions as well. Since I’ve tried it out, my skin definitely feels more smooth and clean feeling. And I just like having a skin regimen, with products that I feel I can trust and I don’t have to think about. If you don’t know what to do, I suggest getting one of their travel kits or their gift sets of smaller versions of their products. That’s what I did to start .

Great lightweight oil
This contains 100% squalane which immediately hydrates and smoothes our skin. I’m using this as the last part of my night time skincare routine. It's a multipurpose oil for hair, face and body. I would recommend this to dry sensitive skin types.

Skin doesn’t agree
I like the feel of this oil, it’s lightweight and nourishing. But for some reason my skin just doesn’t like squalene oil. I originally tried the olive derived form and it was a no-go, so I thought I’d try this sugarcane derived one. My skin had the same reaction.. broke out and got irritated. If your skin likes squalene, however, I’d recommend this as it seems to be good quality.

Multi purpose oil!
What I like about the squaline oil is you can essentially use it wherever. I like to put it on my hands elbows and face at night to lock in the rest of my skincare regime.
